Apparently, I love Zhi Shao Hai You Ni (At Least I Have You) so much that one MV with this song is not enough. Turned out, Alam Tam also sang this song with the amazing Teresa Carpio. Since Alan Tam sang the Fearless Duo memorable theme song as well, I find it befitting to have Alan's and Teresa's version of At Least I Have You for the Fearless Duo MV. Lyrics and Pinyin are below the break. I uploaded the MVs to Dailymotion and Vimeo. "Fearless Duo" 1984 is the property of TVB Hong Kong, no copyright infringement intended. Hope you enjoy this version too with Szeto Man Mo and Lam Chor Yin! Click this one for the Chor Lau Heung 1984 version. Click this to watch the MV at my new Jianghu

I promised I would post a happier MV of The Foundation 1984, and here it is. I found that Michelle Pau's "Days of Happy Laughters" as the most suitable song, hence I used the songs but embedded different scenes of TF here. Click this post to see the original scenes of Ep 4 with the song as the background. Click this to watch

"The Foundation 1984" is the property of TVB Hong Kong, no copyright infringement intended. Lyrics are below the break. I have posted the MV on both Dailymotion and Vimeo. Tamuyen has inspired yet another happy The Foundation MV; we just need to find the music. Oh, and the MV below has a bit of Lok Wan as well, so hope you like it, Tammy! Meanwhile, enjoy!
There's a reason I have only produced one The Foundation 1984 MV (well, actually 1/3, cos the MV was combined with CLH and FD as well). The story is just downright too sad. However, as I've stated in another post, I can't shake off my love towards Li Sai Man and Chun Sik Sik, despite what he did to her later. I can only 'blame' Michael Miu and Barbara Yung for that. So at times, I'd just watch the MVs found over the internet, mostly from YouTube. However, I still want to see an MV that shows LSM's regret after what he did to Sik Sik. Since I found practically none (perhaps because I didn't browse enough), I decided to make one myself. Hence this MV, bearing Dave Wong's aptly titled "Heart Break" song. The MV shows Li Sai Man's regret over what he had done to Sik Sik; all for the throne. Hence the opening is the lonely coronation scene where the new Emperor was not happy despite being the new ruler of the Tang Dynasty. The Foundation 1984is the property of TVB Hong Kong; no copyright infringement intended. Song lyric is below the break. I obtained the translation using an Indonesian translation I found at YouTube, combined with Google Translator (hence feel free to point out my mistakes). Pinyin is from the Chinese Lyrics. Uploaded to both Dailymotion and Vimeo. I have a happier MV of The Foundation down the pipeline, but for now, I hope you can still enjoy this (very) sad MV... (if "enjoy" is the right word for that). I always wanted to do a CLH 1984 MV with a new age piece as the music background, but I doubted whether it would fit the series. But when I found out about "Turning" by Italian-American Suzanne Ciani and Taiwanese Chyi Yu (Qi Yu), I considered it would fit Siu Ching's feelings to Chor Lau Heung. Of course, the "someone else is in [his] eyes"in this context was not a woman; rather, it was his own free wandering life that made him left the Palace and the girl he loved. To me, this song fits Siu Ching's original wish that Chor Lau Heung would leave the wandering life in favour of a royal life, but eventually the girl realised what was truly important, and dashed towards CLH's boat to be with him. "The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung" 1984 is the property of TVB Hong Kong; no copyright infringement intended. The MV is uploaded only to Vimeo. The beautiful winter snapshot was taken from Pinterest. Click this to

The "Turning" lyrics and the beautiful original MV featuring Suzanne and Chyi Yu are below the break. I can't believe I wasn't aware of Suzanne Ciani and Chyi Yu until a few days ago! Palm/face! Chyi Yu's angelic voice lent some ethereal ambiance to "Turning". The fact that she is from Taiwan (although she sang an English song here) also made me think "Yeah, this piece should fit". I hope you like this piece. Have a nice weekend!
This CLH Heung 1984 MV starts with some scenes from Ep 11. The MV mostly focuses on how CLH would sacrifice himself to protect Song Siu Ching because he loved her so, and how he was so scared to lose her (or got worried whenever she was upset). Several versions of "At Least I Have You" (Zhi Shao Hai You Ni) exist, and I do love some of them (Alan Tam's and Sandy Lam's in particular). But I picked Leslie Cheung's version because the tone somehow fits with the MV theme. "The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung" 1984 is the property of TVB Hong Kong; no copyright infringement intended. Dedicated to Michael Miu, Barbara Yung, and Leslie Cheung... I've uploaded the MV to both Vimeo and Dailymotion, both with high res and lower res (higher res tends to be difficult to stream). Hope they remain there. Pinyin and English translation of the lyrics are below the break. The English translation was obtained from Diana S from YouTube. Click this to watch

Chor Lau Heung and Wu Tit Fa sleuthing the Bat Prince, ep 35
Chor Lau Heung was not just famous for his gravity-defying skills and martial arts. He was first and foremost a great detective. This MV is an attempt to portray some sleuthing scenes in "The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung 1984" series, in particular surrounding the mystery of the Bat Prince and the Viper Sword. The series is the property of TVB Hong Kong; no copyright infringement intended. Music is from my favourite spy/detective series; the BBC "Spooks" opening theme by Jennie Muskett. Also featuring Ying Man Lei (Kwok Fung), Song Siu Ching (Barbara Yung), Wu Tit Fa (Chan Wing Chun) and Yat Dim Hung (Austin Wai) as some of my favourite characters in the series. I'm uploading the MV at Vimeo only because I don't want to risk my Dailymotion account being banned, since I'm using a Western music. Hence, MV is under the break. Click this to watch
the MV at my new Jianghu blog. Hope you like it!
The following MV was inspired by Leslie Cheung's number "I Am What I Am". The song talks about his sexuality, which he decided to openly admit to the public. Here I apply a different context for Chor Lau Heung, in which he was just a normal man who fell in love with an amazing woman, yet their backgrounds were so different. Hence, when he had to choose between staying in the Palace with his love Song Siu Ching or returning to his wandering life despite her absence, he chose the latter. However, after returning to the Fragrant Boat, he still wished she was with him. The last scene depicts his disappointment upon learning that she wasn't coming (or so he thought....). Music is "I Am What I Am" by the late Leslie Cheung. "The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung" 1984 is the property of TVB Hong Kong. No copyright infringement intended. Yale romanisation and English translations are below the MVs. I took out the numbers for the MV subtitles, but I retained them here. Click this to watch

Happy New Year again, guys! Was hoping to catch some sleep today, but MB bugged me to produce a new MV. Hence, here's the three MB wuxia series of The Foundation, Chor Lau Heung and Fearless Duo. Music is from my favourite Coco Lee, A Love Before Time (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), composed by Tan Dun, music by Yoyo Ma. I was originally accustomed to the English version, but upon understanding the meaning of the Mandarin version, I love the latter more. I post here the two versions, Mandarin and English. Have uploaded them to Vimeo, and will do that with Dailymotion either soon or tomorrow. Gotta catch some New Year sleep... The premise is similar to my Karmic Connection fanfiction, which apparently has drawn some good readerships. I have no LOCH footage, and I don't think I can do justice here, hence I only present The Foundation, Chor Lau Heung and Fearless Duo. The Pinyin and English lyrics are below, in addition to being embedded in the MVs. Click this to

The first bickering between Lam Chor Yin (Barbara Yung) and Szeto Man Mo (Michael Miu), FD ep 1
Okay folks, the last Michael/Barbara MV before the New Year. "Accidentally in Love" for Fearless Duo this time. Music is "Accidentally in Love" by Counting Crows. As per usual, TVB owns Fearless Duo and I intend for no copyright infringement with this MV. I only upload it in Vimeo for I use a Western music, hence Dailymotion might delete it. Hence, check the MV below the bar. Click this to

For now, have a Happy New Year, and may 2016 be more prosperous, healthy, loving and peaceful for us all... Thanks again for the visits and support!
About two months ago,
after listening to The Moon Represents My Heart sung beautifully by the late
Teresa Teng, I wanted to make an MV of Chor Lau Heung and Song Siu Ching using
this song. But somehow I wanted the singer to be a male, for I wanted it to represent
Chor tai-gor’s feelings to Siu Ching. After all, our wanderer was a total
helpless in expressing his thoughts! Then I came across Leslie Cheung’s version
on this YouTube video. I fell
in love with his beautiful rendition. However, that version was too live for
the MV I wanted to make. After an easy searching in iTunes, I struck gold by
finding another version sung by Leslie in his two albums (“I Am What I Am” and “Forever
Leslie”). After a very painstaking process of converting the MP4 protected
file, I finally gave up and searched online for any mp3 version uploaded by any
kind soul. I struck gold again with this
site. Hence, this MV. Click this to
watch the MV at my new Jianghu blog.
The story particularly focuses on Ep 32 where Chor tai-gor finally gave his full commitment to Siu Ching by promising to take her to roam the world carefree after reinstating the Emperor. “The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung 1984” is the property of TVB Hong Kong. This MV is again dedicated to Michael Miu and Barbara Yung, and also specially to the ever charming Leslie Cheung...
I uploaded the MVs to Dailymotion and Vimeo. Will try Veoh too, but I was having tech problems with it this afternoon. Pinyin and English lyrics are below. Have a lovely year end and a very Happy New Year, guys! Thanks a lot for being with me for the last few months!
I have been listening to Queen for the last few days, and two songs stuck in my head. The first song is Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which I plan to make an MV for Fearless Duo, hopefully this week. The second song is Jealousy, and I'm using it for this MV below. Story: Chor Lau Heung was jealous with Fell Cut because Song Siu Ching took care of the assassin and spent a lot of time with the latter. His jealousy was totally unfounded because Siu Ching was just sympathising with Fell Cut's plight, but Chor tai-gor didn't know this by the time he found her. "The New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung 1984" is the property of TVB Hong Kong. Music is Queen's Jealousy. I uploaded the MV to both Dailymotion and Vimeo; both are embedded below. I hope the MV stays and you like it. Click this to
watch the MV at my new Jianghu blog.
Edit 29 Dec15: Dailymotion blocked it (palm/face). Have tried Veoh but still having some technical problems. Will post it here once I have Veoh online. For now, just check the Vimeo embedded below the break. "Jealousy" - a Chor Lau Heung 1984 MVby icha74
I've always wanted to make a Chor Lau Heung MV containing the fighting scenes in the series, cos they're just pure gold! But I just got the hang of Windows Movie Maker like last week, hence the project never materialised until just now. I am pretty happy with the result, so I hope you are too. The music is "Storm" from my favourite Japanese shamisen-playing Yoshida Brothers, which is one of my favourite Yoshida music/songs actually (they have a lot!). Below is the embedded video from Dailymotion. If the link is banned (sigh), check the Vimeo link below the break for another source for streaming. Click this to

Merry Christmas everyone, may Peace, Love and Health be upon us! Thanks to MB and/or CLH fans and/or Fearless Duo fans and/or the Foundation fans for keep returning to my blog; you guys are amazing! Here's another CLH 1984 MV for you guys (or ladies?). Chor Lau Heung pondering about his love to Princess Wing Ching (aka Song Siu Ching) and how he is just not good enough for her. From "The Adventures of Chor Lau Heung" 1984, copyright by TVB Hong Kong. Music "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt. Video is under the break for stats purposes. I understand that it might feel weird to have a Chinese MV with English music, but I find James Blunt's song really befits Chor tai-gor's feelings and self-doubts (tho they wouldn't have a subway back in the Ming Dynasty!), so I just decided to use the song. Hope you like it. Click this to

Since I
listened to Teresa Teng’s rendition of Li Yu’s “Du Shang Xi Lou” (“Alone
Up the West Chamber”), I’ve always wanted to make this MV. I just finished it,
and I hope it touches many MB/CLH fans. The story is about Song Siu Ching
reminiscing on her love story with Chor Lau Heung after he took her hairpin and
left her in the Palace. I found the theme of Du Shang Xi Lou befitting her loneliness
upon Chor tai-gor’s departure.
Du Shang Xi
Lou is part of Li Yu’s poem titled"Grief"
(哀思 ai si), which in itself is the segment of
"Happy reunion" (相見歡xiang jian huan). The late, angelic
Teresa sang Du Shang Xi Lou as part of her Dandan Youqing (Light
Exquisite Feeling) album. If
you’re a fan of Teresa Teng, or just found out about her angelic voice, you
should listen to this album.
The original lyrics is from this site,
while the English translation is from HKships4TeresaTeng2’s YouTube video of
Dandan Youqing (Light Exquisite Feeling). The Pinyin lyrics are combined from the two sites. The MV version with Pinyin
and English translation is below the break. Click here for my previous fanfiction on this theme. Click this to

Update 16/11/16: I've provided the summary for 'United We Stand' here. It's really a fun series!
I haven't found the rom-com United We Stand (生銹橋王, 1984) with English sub (or Indonesian sub) yet, so I haven't been able to watch the series. I mean, I can, I guess, view it through Youku, Tudou, Dailymotion or Veoh... but I wouldn't have a clue what Barbara and Michael were saying. But I found this lovely MV a while ago at Veoh and I remembered it today.
The MV is below the break (gotta do that so I can track the stat for this post). Click this to
watch the MV at my new Jianghu blog. It's a lovely MV with Barbara as Dao Yun, the well-behaved lady who was courted by Dong Peng Fei (Michael Miu). Babs also portrayed Dao Yun's tomboy twin (Pei Ying), hence I really want to see this series. But for now, the MV will do. Michael looked dashing as always (tho I find his immensely curly hair a bit unsettling, for I'm so used to his long flowing Han hair...). Barbara was so gorgeous and doll-like, it makes me root for her more...
The Foundation 1984
has three main tracks, all sung by Michelle Pau. The opening and end credits
are sad, but the third one has a very happy note. It was played during the
first real date between Li Sai Man (Michael Miu) and Chun Sik Sik (Barbara
Yung) in Episode
4. I said “the first real date” because by this time, Sai Man no longer pretended that he was a jerk just to evade his brother’s spies. It was
like, “Screw this. I’m dating her and I will just cherish her presence and make
her laugh!” Hence the song and the
scene, which I successfully uploaded to YouTube (TVB, please don’t tell me to
delete it later, it’s only 2.5 minutes anyway...). Edit: TVB blocked it, so I moved it to Dailymotion. If it's blocked again, I will just post the video on my public Dropbox domain... (Jeepers, I'm not even trying to sell anything here!). Click this to
watch the MV at my new Jianghu blog.
The original lyrics
are found at Musixmatch and SPCNET (the Musixmatch missed the last line). The English translation is also provided in the second version of the video. The song is a happy one indeed. It shows how Li Sai Man truly loved Sik Sik and just wanted to make her happy...

I haven't seen Michael Miu's and Barbara Yung's Fearless Duo (TVB 1984), but after watching this YouTube and listening to the OST, I just have to see it. FD has a happy ending (unlike the Foundation, which I also want to watch but I fear I will cry buckets of tears), so I will definitely watch it. The OST is titled "Who Can Change" by Alan Tam, and after listening to the song, I can understand why it is Michael Miu's favourite song (and that the series is one of his favourites) and that Alan Tam himself is still the king of Canto pop these days.
I obtained the lyrics and meaning from Wehaiyo (I modified slightly to streamline it) and the Cantonese Yale pinyin from Feitsui. Enjoy!

I tried to find the translation of CLH'84 opening and closing themes but failed, so I asked my Chinese Malaysian friend to translate it for me. Sompong from the YT video below provided me with the script of the opening theme and Min Chi translated it for me; hence my gratitude for both of them. I obtained the closing theme script from Musixmatch and Min Chi translated it again for me (thanks again!). I love both songs. I really dig the opening theme for it truly captured who Chor tai-gor was, while the closing theme reminds me of CLH/SSC relationship.
